Baby Week 10

Finally something to write about. Most of you know we're pregnant so I've decided from my sister-in-law Lindsey's suggestion that i blog about my pregnancy. Here is week 10 from last week and thursday i'll add week 11.

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

School

So sometimes i really wonder why i'm a nursing major. I haven't even stared school and already i'm doing homework. Not only that we have to start a day early and we have a test the first day which they didn't tell us until tonight and we are supposed to take it tomorrow. Nevermind the fact that we have to get a 100% on it, o no... that's not a big deal let's give them as little warning as possible! Ugh.... Now i'm back to that stay up all night and get up early, till i'm so exhausted i can barely function. All i can say is this is where God wants me because otherwise i would have dropped along time ago. He continually carries me through and uplifts me and i know that this year He is going to have to do it alot more. Anyway i would appreciate the prayers not only for me but for Stephen, he'll need it living with me. :) Love you all and hopefully i won't become non-existant.

Work on

So i realized my blog is really more of a picture book than a blog. And if I want this to be anything more than another facebook or myspace I need to start working on my blogging "skills". So in an effort to rectify this, I will endeavor to write more and not put so many pictures in. Thanks for reading, hopefully it will get more interesting.

Love,
Caitlin

4th of July

I went home for the 4th of July and got to see my two best friends. It was definitly an interesting weekend. I missed Stephen a lot and reminds me of how much I hate that he has to work so much. However we have only grown stronger because of it and I can't complain about that.

Our Place

Finally I took pictures of our apartment. It's a little small but it is a very nice place, and we have definitly learned how to organize and find ways of creating storage.

Honeymoon (Zoo)

So weird I know but Stephen and I went to the Toledo Zoo on our honeymoon with his family. What can I say I love the Zoo. We had a lot of fun, here are a few pictures. We had pictures from the cottage we stayed at and from Cedar Point, but being the genius I am i accidently deleted them.
