Week 27 sorry it's late

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Fill in the blanks

FILL IN THE BLANKS:

Outside my window… is an annoying crow and traffic, but it is beautiful outside.

The time is… 3:24pm

Today I feel… good, and excited for the weekend

I am thinking… that I can't wait until it's the weekend

At the moment, I am thankful… for an amazing God who loves me and wonderful family and friends

I am going… finish working and go home.

I am wearing… scrubs

I wish… my daughter was here

I am reading… a bunch of different books

I am working on… work stuff and getting ready for Rhyin

I am hoping… that everything continues to go well with this pregnancy

I am hearing… my coworker moving furniture around and traffic outside

Around the house… we are cleaning and organizing, need to start going through stuff to get rid of before we move

I bet you didn't know… that there is a woman who weighs 600lbs and wants to gain 400 more...weird

One of my favorite… drinks is water

Week 26

My hip pain is back, and now i also feel like my stomach is pulling, just getting bigger.  Also i've developed lower back pain.  So now my side of the bed has two regular pillows and pillow with arms and my memory foam so I can sleep upright, and my hips dont wake me up through out the night.  I finally felt the "alien effect" just once and I didn't get to see it, but it felt so weird!!  Anyway I will be putting up my weekly VLOG tonight on youtube so there will probably be more details in there.

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

Week 25

Update this week is that I had my glucose test and I passed with flying colors.  Stephen finally got to see and feel Rhyin, he loved it!  We go back to the doctor in April and we will have two ultrasounds in April one for monitoring the amniotic fluid and the other is our 4D.  I went to Chicago this past weekend with my friend Katie to visit her sister who had twins the day before I got married.  It was a lot of fun and Sarah gave me 4 big bag fulls and a box full of clothes, toys, blankets, bibs, shoes, socks, and so on.  I think Rhyin will be set for a while.  I'm really hoping she doesn't get a lot of clothes at the showers, she won't get to wear half of them.  This weekend we are heading to Ohio for our nephew Liam's 1st birthday party, should be a lot of fun!

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga (pictured above), but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Week 24

So this week has been fun, I went to my friend Greg's baby shower.  Greg and his wife Erica are having a little girl named Alleigh in May.  I went shopping with my mom to buy a gift for them and ended up finding the moby wrap I wanted, so excited!!  Stephen and I both got to see Rhyin move for the first time.  Yesterday I had my hand on my stomach and she kicked it, that was really cool and Stephen tried all night but she didn't kick strong enough for him to feel it.  We see the doctor tomorrow and I think I'm doing my glucose test tomorrow, hopefully that goes well. I will try to do another little update tomorrow.  Also if you haven't yet check out my youtube channel there's a link on the right of this.  This weekend I'm going with my friend Katie to Chicago to see her sister, who had twins the day before I got married.  The last time I saw them they were only a month old, so I'm looking forward to that.  Hope everyone is doing good!

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Update on Rhyin

I had an ultrasound yesterday to check the amniotic fluid, it is now up to 9cm. Rhyin's heart is good, and we had another confirmation that she is definitley a girl. And she has moved from her breech position to having her head down.  They tried to take a picture of her face but she had her arms crossed in front of her face and would not move. Silly little girl. Thanks for the continued prayers, we see the doctor on friday so we should find out the next step then.
